Ba Le Bakery is a Vietnamese bakery/cafe located in uptown Chicago, in an area affectionately known as little Saigon. While they have a small grocery section and a fairly extensive selection of cold prepared food, their main draw is their Bahn Mi - known to most westerners as a submarine sandwich. Apparently Ba Le provides bread to many of the restaurants around chicago that serve Bahn Mi. They have a wide variety of (pork) options, most of which cost about $3.00. So much for five dollar foot longs.
The one you're looking at above has fried tofu, fresh avocado, swiss cheese, mayo, house pickled diakon & carrot, lettuce, tomato, olive, vinegar, jalapeno, onion, cilantro, and soy sauce. Yum.
